Maybe English Mastiff should be crossbred with Belgian Malinois to get some new genetic material in there and decrease the stubbornness an increase the trainability. It would definitely put some spring into its step

PS the dogs would be a more jacked up version of a Saint Bernard as far as protection goes cuz they really barely have any... oh, I mean they will watch over you and bark at people , yeah, but really don't have much in the way of aggression - unless it is a wild animal and their fight or flight is pricked. And then, they will probably try like hell to kill the threat, and if it were a person that is already attacking you it would do the same. Personally, I would not want to get attacked first before my dog acted, you know what I mean? You would have to really be bonded with your dog for it to sense trouble and get between you and the trouble in a timely manner plus you would have to choose the pup out of the litter that actually has the most bossy - pushy - bowl the other dogs over and dominate - type personality. They would also be a more chilled-out version of the Central Asian Shepherd, which many people in the world say truly are only good for guarding and to let them do what they do, inside a very strong and high steel pole fencing. I digress yet some more from this being a simple PS to say that I came up with this idea because of the Moscow Watchdog, which is a Caucasian Shepherd X Saint Bernard. I have not found that much that I like about the Caucasian Shepherd and would much rather have an Alabai-nard/ St. ala Bernard(?)/ St. Alarnard(?)/ Saintly Alabai cross.

Irish Wolfhound was my favorite. He looked exactly like these grey ones, but I think he was a runt; while large, not as large as the usual. Also, they are great pets, loyal and loving with kids. Not good guard dogs since they love people,, but they will turn on anyone or animal who becomes aggressive to their family.

my boston terrier is deadass staring at me like she's about to bust out singing "mama....was I not good enough for you...mama? She loves all humans and animals unless they do something foul then she'll fight another animal forsure. One time she got out the yard and I heard there was an altercation down the street with another dog and it was a Boxer so i'm hauling ass thinking my baby finna b bout dead, and I get there and this Boxer was tryna shake my lil tink tink off of his neck but Boston's still have that bully jaw and my lil baby was latched. I couldn't act proud in the moment but I was and all she had on her was a lil tiny armpit injury. She also chased a racoon out of the yard the other day while I frantically also ran to make sure it wasn't a rabies attack demon ass racoon. However, i'd have to use my 357 forsuree to put down a wolf bcz bookins is tough but she is only 28lbs after all lmaooo

We have had five rescue dogs so far. Our current pup, Bear, might run from the fly. And if your dogs barks at him, he will hide. He is 65 pounds of pure love, but has a sad past. We had a Border Collie rescue that sounded like a Great Dane when she barked. Sort of like putting a semi truck horn on a Volkswagen Beetle!
